London calling

Right. I'm a pommie originally, and I have a fair amount of experience with London. But why is it so hard to find a hotel there? Too much choice probably and the delicate weighing up of "Do I want to be near the city and take out a mortgage to pay for it" or "Do I want to be out in the sticks, which isn't actually London, but the hotel says it is because what do you expect for the price".

We've tried to go with something in the middle, and I think we have done quite well with Kings X/Bloomsbury (they add the "Bloomsbury" to make the Kings X sound nicer I'm sure). But we'll see I guess....

We're Off!

Well, soon anyway. We leave on the 19th May for 5 weeks of fun-filled, culture-encrusted, money-spending, no-working holiday time! On the agenda are Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, London, Venice, Florence and last but not least....Rome.

We're both so looking forward to the break. Not much left to organise, nearly everything has been taken care off.

Only small things left now, like my passport dammit. Why, oh why did it have to run out this year! Fingers crossed it's in the post!
