Day Four - The Coast

The Pier at Pismo Beach

After leaving Santa Barbara we continued the drive until we thought it was a good time to find somewhere to stay and get some much needed food. Jo decided to just take the next turn off and see where we ended up - she chose well! We ended up driving through a little beach side place called Pismo Beach and we got a room with a view at a little motel.

After lugging our backpacks upstairs we took a short walk into the town for dinner. The town itself was really cute and quite busy with families and couples all out and about. The local fish & chip shop looked busy and inviting so we ordered two grilled salmon taco's and a Bud Light each. Even though the Clam Chowder was the best local choice (apparently they sell 18,000 gallons of the stuff every year at this place) the taco's were great! Really fresh and tasty and hit the spot after a day of little eating.

We check out in the morning and get ready for the best part of the coast up to Monterey, can't wait!
